Refund Policy

Overview

At Shilam Couture, every garment is crafted specifically for you — made-to-measure with your chosen fabric, design, and measurements. Because of this bespoke nature, our refund policy differs from standard retail. Please read the following carefully before placing your order.

1. Cancellations

Before Work Commences

If you wish to cancel your order before our team has begun cutting or stitching, you may request a cancellation. In this case:

• 100% of the advance paid will be refunded if cancelled within 24 hours of order placement
• 50% of the advance will be refunded for cancellations made between 24–48 hours of order placement
• No refund on advance is applicable for cancellations made after 48 hours

After Work Has Commenced

Once fabric has been cut and stitching has begun, the order cannot be cancelled and no refund is applicable on the advance paid. The balance payment (if any) remains due on completion.

3. Alterations & Fit Issues

We take every precaution to ensure your garment fits perfectly. However, if there is a fit issue after delivery:

• Our Error: If the garment does not match the agreed measurements due to our mistake, we will remake or alter it at no charge within 14 days of delivery
• Free Alteration: One complimentary alteration is offered within 7 days of delivery for minor fit adjustments
• Paid Alteration: Further alterations or those requested after 7 days are chargeable based on the nature of work
• Client Measurement Error: If the garment was stitched per the client's provided measurements and does not fit, alterations will be done at the client's cost

4. Defective or Damaged Garments

In the unlikely event that you receive a garment with a manufacturing defect (stitching fault, incorrect style, or fabric damage caused by us), please inform us within 48 hours of receiving your order.

• We will assess the issue and offer either a full remake, repair, or refund at our discretion
• Claims made after 48 hours of delivery may not be accepted
• Fabric defects from client-supplied materials are not covered under this policy

5. Refund Process

Approved refunds will be processed within 7–10 working days via the original payment method. Bank transfer refunds may take an additional 2–3 business days depending on your bank.

To initiate a cancellation or refund request, contact us via phone or email with your order details and reason for the request.

6. Non-Refundable Items & Services

The following are strictly non-refundable:

• Completed and delivered custom-stitched garments (unless a defect is reported within 48 hrs)
• Advance payments after work commencement
• Stitching training fees once the batch has started
• Rush or priority service charges
• Embellishment or embroidery work once executed

7. Uncollected Orders

Completed garments not collected or arrangements made for delivery within 30 days of the ready notification will be stored at the client's risk. Shilam Couture is not liable for any loss or damage after this period. Storage charges may apply.
